Tasting Australia heads to Fleurieu Peninsula

Tasting Australia returns to the Fleurieu Peninsula this April and May for an eight-day celebration of South Australia’s culinary excellence.

The iconic food and wine festival is led by patron and Barossa legend Maggie Beer, creative director Simon Bryant (The Cook and The Chef) and creative curator Jock Zonfrillo (Restaurant Orana, Adelaide).

“The city is just the start (of Tasting Australia) – get out to our regions, visit a farm and meet the producer, enjoy a wine masterclass or personalised tasting with the winemaker, harvest olives, make sausages or discover a regional gem,” Bryant said.

“We’re inviting you to get your mates together, experience something new, discuss the flavours and origins of our food and beverages and immerse yourself in our awesome food culture.”

The Fleurieu Peninsula will host seven events during Tasting Australia including the sister events – Heroines Table and Heroines Soul to Glass – which celebrate leaders of the food and beverage industries who happen to be women.

“There really is something for everyone at this festival, from visitors craving a high-end experience to families wanting a day out with the kids,” Minister for Tourism Leon Bignell said.

Service Excellence Workshop

The South Australian Tourism Industry Council is delighted to invite you to our upcoming Service Excellence Workshop located in the Adelaide Hills.

These workshops are highly interactive, hands on and conducted in a small intimate group setting of up to 30 people that are tailored and run by professional facilitators. They aim to deliver tangible outcomes - learnt today and implemented tomorrow.

This workshop is about partnership and collaboration and will help you identify other tourism operators in your region that offer complementary products aligned to your target market and brand. You will practice how to develop itineraries and price packages to compelling value-added experiences and join forces to explore new marketing and distribution avenues to gain greater exposure, reach more ideal customers and turn them into advocates.

Distribution & Commission

This 'add-on' workshop will provide insights into the various traditional and modern distribution channels and how to build commission into your pricing structure. Distribution is about enhancing the visibility and sale of a tourism product by providing your ideal target market with a variety of ways to buy your product. This workshop forms part of a ServiceIQ: Smarter Business Program which is designed to build industry capability, productivity and quality in tourism businesses throughout the state.

Members of the SATIC team will be undertaking one-on-one tourism business coaching sessions (of up to two hours) within six months of the ServiceIQ Workshop. These sessions are a follow-up of your workshop learnings and include an online marketing audit, review of business capabilities and tourism marketing activities.
