With a growing ageing population healthy food and healthy ageing is a real and tangible opportunity to maintain and improve the health and wellness of individuals as they age. This means there are growth opportunities for many quality food manufactures and value adders for not only local but also international markets. With South Australia one of the leading states for an ageing population this provides a basis for market testing and development of new products to meet market needs.

Primary Industry and Regions SA together with Regional Development Australia Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island would like to consult with South Australian Food Producers and Manufacturers to better understand the opportunities associated with the 60+ demographic; to understand the industry's challenges in identifying and responding to new opportunities for this market segments; and to identify some of the key market information that could assist in overcoming these barriers.  This consultation will provide a foundation for further market segmentation analysis and lead to a greater understanding of the seniors market in South Australia.  The workshop will be delivered by KPMG, followed by a light lunch and a tour of the SARDI Aquatic Sciences Centre for those who wish to stay.
