Country SA Primary Health Network will be providing Consumer education sessions in your region to provide face to face information and support about the 'My Health Record'.

This education is funded by the Australian Federal Government to inform and provide clear education and information about the National Health Record and the legislated change from being and 'opt in' record to an 'opt out' record. 

The educational sessions will look at changes to the National Health Record, how the 'opt out' period works and what choices consumers have.

Three types of sessions will be delivered in your community:  

General Community Session

What is the 'My Health Record'?

  • A National Electronic Health Record
  • Available and working across all of Australia
  • Legislated and protected by law
  • Consumers have full access to their 'My Health Record'
  • Consumers have control over who can see the 'My Health Record' and can contribute information to the record
  • The 'My Health Record' can only be accessed by Registered Healthcare Providers directly involved in the consumer's care

 

Sessions for Carers and their Families

These sessions will also include information on:

  • How to access and view your health information
  • How to link access to the record of the person/s you care for
  • How the record can be used and will benefit you when you access multiple providers
  • How the record can be used to reduce duplication of pathology and imaging
  • How as a Carer you can use My Health Record to support the person you care for, its future use and linkages to My Aged Care and NDIS
  • Support for consumers to access their record through their MyGov account

 

Families and Sporting Community Session

These sessions will also include information on:

  • Using Mobile applications for healthy living
  • Benefits for children
  • Options for young people aged 14-18
  • Linking your family
